[Qt-interest] Problem: VLC Plugin in Qt 4.6 Webkit OSX?

Hi Qt-Interest,
I would like to embed the VLC plugin inside of a QtWebkit. It works
on Windows. On Snow Leopard, the VLC plugin runs on 32-bit Safari
and Firefox. When I try to run it in a QtWebKit window on a Mac,
however, I get the plugin-not-found lego block.
1) Running a plugin detection script in QtWebKit and Safari, I
learned that QtWebKit doesn’t recognize all of the plugins that Safari
recognizes. Webkit doesn’t detect the VLC plugin, nor does it
recognize standards like Quartz, Java for Cocoa, or the VLC Plugin .
Arora had the same problem. It does, however, recognize the Flash and
Quicktime plugins.
2) Qt 4.6 would load in Carbon 32-bit. I subsequently
uninstalled Qt and installed the Cocoa 32/64 bit mode. After forcing
Qt into 32-bit mode, I continued to this issue—there was no change in
the plugins detected.
Does anyone have any ideas? Does it have to do with where the
plugins are kept, or some configuration in qt? Thoughts would be
hugely appreciated.
Thanks!
Stone Bridges
