[Qt-interest] QTabWidget corner widget overlap

I've set a button as a QTabWidget's corner widget. The tab widget is part of a 
vertical layout, and the widget above seems to be overlapping the top edge of 
the button. (See attached screencap.) How can I pad the tab widget so that the 
corner buttons don't get overlapped?
