The wiki has full-fledged articles and tutorials, not really comments
on the API where one could just write a paragraph in an already
existing context and add value to it in 5 minutes.
For the API itself, the page here
http://wiki.qtcentre.org/index.php?title=Category:Qt_classes
looks like a good start except that the vast majority of the links
point to stubs with no actual contents.
Even then, it has 73 classes while Qt-4.3 has about 660 classes.
People sure can contribute, but starting from scratch like this, it's
impossible to attract significant interest. Once you've found the page,
you know you won't come back because there is almost nothing to see.
What I have in mind is the set of official Qt docs plus user comments
on functions, in a way that they would come as a bonus. Compared to the
wiki, it would have:
1) full initial contents
2) renewed official contents when the API evolves
3) user contributed stuff visually and structurally separated from
official contents, which is also something that is necessary and can't
be done with the wiki, I think.
Best regards,
