[Qt-interest] Cleaning FIFO between QT and RT

Hi all

I have a lil problem here.

I have connected like 4 FIFOs between a QT and RT Linux threads. Now when
one of the button on QT "STOP Calculation" is pressed, I wish to clear the
FIFO . This is because after the STOP button is pressed, there are still
some data left in the FIFO which is being sent by RTLinux to the QT. Because
of this there is a small time lag between the calculation with the old
setting and that with the new setting. This also at time tends to stick the
computer(Hang it).

Please tell me a way in which I could clear the FIFO's content as soon as
this button is pressed. I could also do it from RTLinux itself but then
again , How??
