[Qt-interest] brightness/contrast using Qt 4.4

Hi everyone,
  I downloaded the 'imageviewer' example and am trying to implement brightness/contrast features in it.I tried google but didn't find much.
Is there any API in Qt 4.4.3 which functions similar to  'QPixmapFilter' available in Qt 4.5 ?
Any suggestion/examples/code which might help would be welcome.
