[Qt-interest] setWindowOpacity( ); is not working

hi friends,
            i am designing a window which has a size equal to the task bar
and one pushbutton ..
   i want to make the window semi transparent so i use  setWindowOpacity to
some level ... but it is not working ...
   i tried setAttribute( Qt::WA_OpaquePaintEvent) and
setPalette(QPalette(Qt::transparent));
   both working fine ... but setWindowOpacity is not working ...
                  whats the problem ... please help me ....
