What does the choice of the buildsystem have to do with the fact of adding "-
g" to the flags and running the app inside gdb???
Using scons or auto* or qmake you can debug your app with the same ease as 
with cmake.
It definitely gets easier when you use an integrated development environment 
(short IDE) like qtcreator or kdevelop. Then you don't have to deal with the 
commandline yourself...
