Victims they may be.
Bad netiquette in general and dumb disclaimers in particular reduce my
interest in the message. This means that consequently I am less likely
to read it carefully and possibly respond. Since many disclaimers
amount to "do not read this or act upon it", the ultimate author of
the disclaimer gets precisely what they ask for - not what the victim
wants.
Occasionally I am sufficiently interested in a topic to ignore the bad
netiquette and/or disclaimer. However, I don't consult a lawyer to
tell me whether I am allowed to read it or not - life is too short.
