[Qt-interest] testing GUI with QTestLib

I have a couple of questions regarding QTestLib and GUI testing:

1) Is there a way to test a GUI with QTestLib without having to "show" the
GUI?
2) How do you get past a "blocking" dialog in your application when testing
using QTestLib?  I've tried creating another thread to simulate a
human-in-the-loop but I get some kind
    of weird XLib async error when using another thread.

By the way...I'm running Qt 4.3.3 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
