As they say in text books: "The solution is left as an exercise for the  
reader."  I think that this is moving well out of the scope of this list;  
I and others have given you help with your original problem.

Using Qt effectively requires a good working knowledge of C++.  I am  
repectfully suggesting, based on your questions, that you direct your  
efforts to becoming better with the language before diving head first into  
Qt.  Don't worry, it will still be here when you get a mastery of the  
basic language.
