Thanks, I've read that post a number of times, that's what led me to the backtrace() and backtrace_symbols() functions which look like exactly what I need but they're not available on OSX 10.4.
I'm hoping there is some API that can export something useful like the Apple crash reporter displays but so far no joy. I'll keep looking...
