Qt-Extended was always being improved with new features and bug fixes, make sense to use the latest.
Development on qtopiamedia and the engines was a relatively late addition to Qt-Extended. Lots of bug fixes and improvements went in after version 4.2.1
Your best bet to get it going is to use cruxus engine only it has no dependencies (only plays wav files though).
