I agree, it would be great to "put a Qt app into a browser". There is a
real need for technologies that allow people to put desktop apps into
browsers with little rewriting because many skills of desktop developers do
not transfer into a traditional web app developers. I mean, how many
desktop developers know about DHTML, CSS, Javascript, page states, etc?
Some of that (like CSS and Javascript) are used in Qt, but the rest remain
entirely in the realm of web apps.
I also am a C# developer, and I have found ASP.NET to be possible to pick up
but not easy to be productive in. I have just decided to switch to Visual
WebGUI, which does for C#/WinForms what WebToolkit does for C++/Qt. I am
looking forward to a great increase in productivity. Since I like C++/Qt
better than C#/WinForms I really look forward to the day when there is a
similar Qt solution (other than a lab project).
