[Qt-interest] GrahicsItem and clipping details

I have a large amount of text (PainterPath) which is clipped to a rect, and scrolled through the rect. 
I tried to use a rect to make a sub-path from indeterseced() but that was computationally expensive. 

Anyone have any ideas on how I can tweak this to be faster to lay out and scroll?
