[Qt-interest] Qt vs Adobe Flash etc

Qt has made huge strides in recent versions, particularly with the GraphicsView.
However Qt does not have a good enough scripting language to compete with ActionScript. QtScript is not capable of defining new GraphicsItem which can then be used by Qt. Maybe when the PySide stuff is complete (because I currently script Qt in Python with PyQt4.)
I have often though having a fully open source substitute for Flash would be great. And once PySide is ready we'll have that. But until then we'll lag behind.
I do think that Qt will be faster (hardware acceleration, C++)
I do think that Flash will have a bigger talent base, and has more mature technology, and will be faster to develop in. You're going to have pain if you try to use Qt first time. Sure, you could hire somone like me with GV eperience, but we'd still need to learn all the new classes. We (Qt people) are usually more of a programmer background and not a graphic artist background. While you can do almost everythgin in Qt as in Flash, it may be harder to get done.

Subject: [Qt-interest] Qt vs Adobe Flash etc
I'd like to know what advantages Qt has over Adobe Flash in a UI implementation on an embedded platform e.g a photo album application.
The advantage of Flash is that there is a consistent runtime for it across platforms and on the web, but I'd appreciate it if someone could
let me know what gives Qt an edge of Adobe Flash e.g in terms of ease of implementation, libraries, performance etc
Cheers,
Andreas
