I'm pretty sure that was about Visual Studio Integration that is not
available "out of the box" in open source version of Qt or even that part
of the documentation is outdated. List of supported platforms/compilers
(http://doc.trolltech.com/4.5/supported-platforms.html) says that all more
or less modern versions of Visual Studio are ones of the most actively
supported compilers. Compiler notes page
(http://doc.trolltech.com/4.5/compiler-notes.html) also doesn't contain
any information about limited support of MSVC.
P.S.: Qt developers, the licensing FAQ entry #126
(http://qt.nokia.com/developer/faqs/126) is way too outdated and should be
removed.
