Surely this is now out of scope for this mailing list?
You would get better answers on a Linux-related mailing list, or by
using Google.

As a general hint, gobject is a GTK (i think...) "class" which is
similar to QObject in its intent. (I've never done any GTK programming
though so I may be wrong).
