[Qt-interest] some questions

Good day all,

I am about to develop a multi-platform service type application and a few questions came up.

1) I looked at the list of supported platforms, XP, Vista and Win7 are Tier 1 system. Can I assume that Win Server 2003 / 2008 are supported as well?

2) The service will have a few types of events to respond to. What are the advantages of implementing an event system (just 3-4 types of events, some external, some scheduled) using

a) QEvent
b) signals/slots
c) Observer pattern?
