Actually some users are getting unlimited length already:

Unlimited length videos have always been there, actually, but only
on-demand. For instance, FOSDEM videos are on YouTube (
http://www.youtube.com/fosdemtalks ) and they are way longer than 15
minutes. If you are interested, maybe you could talk to Christophe
Vandeplas ( cvandeplas at fosdem.org ), he took care of uploading the
videos last year (it'd probably cost Nokia money but I guess that's
not a problem).

Some of the advantages of YouTube:
* It's possible to download the videos
* Available in three qualities (high quality, normal, audio-only)
* Live-generated subtitles, even translated to many languages

I'm not saying videos should be available only on YouTube, but it'd be
a nice complement for those of us in countries which do not ban
YouTube.
