I have definitely seen this implemented somewhere as a demo. I *think* 
it was on KDevelop3 as a Qt4 demo. It you have a KDE3 based machine 
knocking about you should be able to pull it off there easily.

If you don't, I can probably put one in an archive and mail it to you.
