[Qt-interest] Open a (non dialogue) widget in a new window?

I have a form which is normally not a dialogue; ie I open it and put it 
in a tab. Is it possible to open it as a new window altogether even 
though it was not created as a dialogue, but just as a widget? Or is 
that a big no-no? Should I create a separate dialogue that is otherwise 
very similar?

If it is possible, what would I pass to the widget that I normally embed 
in the tab as its (the new widget's parent)?
