[Qt-interest] In need of help in qtwebkit, QNetworkAccessManager and QNetworkReply

I asked a question once before about loading resources that are not Qt resources, such as Visual Studio .rc files. The reply that I got was that Qt cannot load those types of resources. The only way to load a resource file via Qt is to use the Qt resource system, which you can read about here http://doc.trolltech.com/4.6/resources.html. In my opinion, it would be really nice if Qt had some way of loading Microsoft resources, but, as of now, there is no way to do it.

I've been having a problem for quite some time now and I have tried posting on most of the qt forums but so far I haven't got a single reply, and I am hoping that the same won't happen with this email.

I am currently developing an GUI for an application using QTWebKit on windows. Everything is going very well so far except for one single problem.
In my design there are certain images that are stored in resource files (.rc), mostly small images and icons that are used on the HTML display.

I have been trying for over a week now to try and load those images into memory and return them to my webview to be displayed. I have managed to override both QNetworkAccessManager and get the request from the currently loading page, parse the given url which is basically a special url (for example: "rc:image.jpg"), this would mean that image.jpg is currently residing in a resource file so I should search for it and return it to webview to be displayed.

I am not sure how am I suppose to load the image data into memory and point my QNetworkReply object to it. I would appreciate any hint, example or idea to make this work.
