[Qt-interest] qmake variable question

Hello!

I build qt from source and in order to use some 3rd party library
should set qmake variable: QMAKE_INCLIB_EGL;

I guess I can use qmake -set / -query interface or set value directly
in qmake.conf in my mkspec.

When's the right time to set variable and right place?
Should I reconfigure build when I decide to change variable?
