[Qt-interest] What the algorithm of sinTable based on?

Dear all,

    This source file "pictureflow.cpp" comes from QtDemo's example, its
name is fluidlauncher.

    I want to study this method to implement this kind of GUI effect.
But I can't understand why there is a "sinTable" needed. What's the
theory it based on?
