[Qt-interest] How to remove close, minimize and maximize buttons from QWidget.

The options are only hints to the window manager. The window manager may 
or may not follow them, and may follow them in whatever way the window 
manager sees fit. The window and the title bar are generally drawn 
outside of Qt.

I am not familiar with the rules on Mac OSX, but is removing these 
buttons consistent with the UI guidelines? If not, then perhaps you 
should just stick to the guidelines. If yes, then it is weird that Mac 
is not following the hints, and you may be onto a bug *somewhere* in the 
stack (not claiming that it is in Qt).
