I would ask a Win32 or dev studio mailing list.

Subject: [Qt-interest] XP zombie problem
When I am working with Win32, and sockets it seems if I have a connected
socket, that when I stop the debugger now it makes the process a zombie.
the window remains open and I can't kill it. I just drag it off to the
side and eventually my taskbar fills up with them.
I can't reboot because it can't be killed. This seems to be a recent
change and I amwondeing if a windows update caused it. But regardless,
is there anything I can do to make sure the process goes away?
