Pointer: I once spotted an example at 0x984a5b7a, but I'm not certain
whether it is still there... ;-)

Better Pointer: there is some good documentation in Qt that explains
signals and slots in such exquisite detail that I shudder at what clumsy
words I could add to it which are certainly not a substitute for the
aforementioned...
