Your application can probably not find the required plugin. Please check
if you actually have built the my sql plugin.

In application when I have printed the error string using QSqlError..... 
It is showing "QSqlDatabase: available Drivers: QSQLLITE QMYSQL3 QMYSQL
QODBC3 QODBC QPSQL7 QPSQL"

I am working on Redhat Enterprise Linux, MySQL-5.1 and using Qt-4.2.3
