[Qt-interest] FTP Server

Hi,
my application needs extremely short reaction times - l already tried the
workaround by filesystems (RAM disk) - remember: most filesystems do
async writes! And: remember: instead of processing the incoming file
(mine are 100 MB and bigger - 2-3 files per second) directly and skipping
any additional memory bloat you have to cope the big cpu load needed
to allocate hundreds of megabytes - even quadcores get into trouble,
when you alloc a few hundred megs multiple times per second.
Further: You get latencies (sometimes much) bigger than 5 ms - which is
inacceptable for my application, where tons of small files.
And: From my point of view, its not smart to do such workarounds and
to hope, the (not every time correctly working) filesystemwatcher is reliable
and fast enough.
So: I'm struggling with this problems for more than 4 years now and the only
smart solution I found would be a new and leightweight FTP implementation.
ciao,
Chris
