Its hard to find sample codes in Qt.. have a look at this

QT is very new to me and I am not that good programmer anyway...
I have been through the links you gave me and trying to understand how
these different (Item, view,scene) coordinate systems relate. I don't
get it. I have now tried for couple hours and no progress - but I will
continue...
Then I came across the concept of layers and that seems interesting.
Is there an example somewhere how to use them. I think that might help
me to make what I originally asked for.
