[Qt-interest] How to get an icon associated with a certain file type using Qt?

Is there a platform-independent way of doing this? For example, I am 
displaying the file name of an email in PDF format in a list view and 
would like to display the Acrobat icon next to the file name if it is 
available in the user's system and registered for the application/pdf 
content-type.
