[Qt-interest] Is there anyways to check if a Process is Alive ?

Hi,
    I'm working on a Front End,for some reasons i need to check if a 
process is running.

    Does anyone has any ideas ?

    After i checked QProcess documents , looks like it can only check 
the one started by QProcess.
    Anyway i can try to read `pgrep' source file , to seek help , just 
wondering if Qt has some native features.

    P.S.: Don't want to take advantages of /proc filesystem , it's only 
on Linux , won't work well on *BSD system.

    Any ideas will appreciate ;-)
