[Qt-interest] Is there anyways to check if a Process is Alive ? [SOLVED]

i'm not really sure anymore for i've not developed on linux since > 1year,
but:
what about zombie processes? 
they're still in the proc tree, but not realy alive?
i possibly don't remember correctly, but there aren't any other possibilities 
where proc entry is visible, but process isn't running anymore?
