You brought the example yourself. The QFile. Most developers probably use QFile a thousand times more than QImageReader and get used to interchangeably used filename and fullpath. But even worse, QImage behaves the same way as QFile does. You can give both names. AND the parameter in QImage is called fileName, too. So I think I was allowed to expect that this is the normal behaviour and QImageReader behave the same way. I really think this should be fixed.
