Yes, that's what it /does/, but not what it was /designed/ for: as Thiago already explained in the "old days of computing" it was really meant to do what it sais: "print whatever is on the screen on the printer - now!".

Nowadays it merely takes a screenshot and stores it somewhere in memory - how boring.
