[Qt-interest] how to implement overtype or replace mode

Hi,

I am trying to implement a text edit that has a little more functionality than the QTextEdit. One of those features is Overtype Mode where the user input replaces the character at the current cursor position. Does anyone have a suggestion about how to do this in qt?
