Pitty, since I already mentioned that lib in my first reply:
"Slightly less basic: do a little bit of googling to see what existing
components there are. I could find some existing code in less than a
minute... SMTP for instance is offered by the Qxt lib."

I guess I should try to write more clearly.

Look at the qxt (Qt Extensions) project.

 

There is a very good Qt based SMTP project.. We (I) are working on a POP and
IMap side of it as well.
