Ah, that's very interesting, I wasn't aware that apparently this API is also meant to be functional on desktop computers (or "non-mobile personal computers": Windows, Linux, Mac, ...): "Qt Mobility Project delivers a set of new APIs to Qt with features that are well known from the mobile device world, in particular phones. However, these APIs allow the developer to use these features with ease from one framework and apply them to phones, netbooks and non-mobile personal computers."

And apparently these features are merged then and when into the "official" Qt API, just like the "Bearer" API: "The Bearer API has been migrated to the Qt 4.7 QtNetwork library. This enables connection manager and roaming support for QNetworkAccessManager. Starting with Qt 4.7 the Mobility version has been deprecated in favor of Qt's Bearer API."

This is where to get started (download, installation) with the Qt Mobility frameworks/APIs: http://doc.trolltech.com/qtmobility-1.0/installation.html#get-the-qt-mobility-api-package

Nice!

Cheers, Oliver
