[Qt-interest] Qt and screensaver with X11

Hi Everybody,
Sorry if this is off-topic. Just want to confirm if it is possible to plugin a Qt widget as a screensaver using solely this X library
http://tronche.com/gui/x/xlib/window-and-session-manager/screen-saver.html
Now I have never done any X programming so my question may sound naive.
