Sorry for intervening, but does anyone know the situation with
http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-370
?

The bug was open for ~3 years and then closed without any [valuable] explanations. It's marked as "out of scope", but there are no evidences that the bug isn't Qt-specific (GTK-based applications can use these styles, toolkit-neutral OpenOffice.org can, Qt-based applications can't).
