They don't need to. Qt is LGPL, just leave Nokia (or get the pink slip, 
whichever comes first), gather in a new firm or in one of the existing Qt-
consulting firms and continue to work on Qt or the_fork_formerly_known_as_Qt.

Some years back I was uncertain whether to hate nokia for leaving germany or 
love nokia for investing in trolltech and bringing the promise of lots of 
development to qt. Now I know many of these developments where not something I 
actually benefitted from. And nokia is to hate again for selling in on 
microsoft...

To all Qt-devs paid by nokia: Good luck! You will need it.
