I think Symbian's descent will come sooner than announced. On one side
we can imagine some of the Symbian staff leaving the boat to find a
better work for their own future, making maintenance and development
more difficult. On the other side, shops will stop promoting symbian
models. Why would they do otherwise?
One of the strengths of Apple is: they control the hardware and the
software. Nokia did also, until today. It's a step back. Now, if they
depend entirely on WinPhone, where is their freedom of innovation? What
will distinguish them from other manufacturers in the long term?
"Never put all your eggs in one basket"... at least they should keep
a firm foot in Meego.
I am not too pessimistic about Qt future, simply because Qt *has* a
value, and valuable things don't disappear like that.
