Hi,
Here is the Nokia resume what's happen on the blog ... I am noot good in english but here it seems that don't all understand the same english ...
http://conversations.nokia.com/2011/02/12/what-is-the-future-of-qt/#disqus_thread
@Thiago : I think anyone here wants to hurt Qt people ... clearly Not ... At the reverse, I think all here, and on others forum and thread, wants to ensure that the best crossplaform toolkit will Survive ... Thanks for your wonderfull Job !!!! and I think also, even if it was quite mobile centric, that Nokia (before Elop) has push Qt and invest a lot ...
But now, we are all disturbed :
- Recently, the Qt focus was clearly on mobile ... (I am for the moment only targetting Desktop .. but I was planning to target mobile and tablet... a lot of time learning Qml, ...)
- And now Qt is LGPL ( I use this version now ... switching from Commercial to LGPL) .... And don't understand why Qt will remains ... the only things I see is permit nokiakrosoft to do the transition ... not quite enthousiasm ... I am using Qt to develop all my commercial application (lots of Qt meta ... ) , try to fight with the very joung but very promising Qml, read a lot announce from Nokia that Qml will be the only way to develop for Nokia ... and Now ... Nokia go to WP7 with .net ....
I have invest a lot of time and money in my small company in Qt, .... what is the future .... For Kde it's ok : but for crossplatform user like me .. what will happen ??? I clearly don't trust anymore Nokia : It's clearly not a technical strategy but Lie and Lie to let the Elop Trojan enter Nokia : Microsoft is on the door of Nokia (and Qt :( ) ... and we must stay calm .... We have bet on Qt for our business ( ... fair business... no action .... just work) ... I think we are a lots in this case .... It's ok I can switch to another toolkit ... but I think Qt is good (if it continue to evolve and innovate)... it's so shade.... I have the sentiment that Nokia will let Qt slowly death (to not hurt anyone ... and to use Qt ... trolls, developers, to help their transitions to WP7)
ONE MORE TIME, THANKS TROLLS for all your fantastic Jobs ....
