As the Macintosh completely taking the Desktop Market from IBM in the 80s? Or maybe as in this quote:

"If, for some reason, we make some big mistake and IBM wins, my personal feeling is that we are going to enter a computer Dark Ages for about twenty years." - On the

As you can see, we have clearly lacked advances in computers in the last 20 years and were only saved from our terrible IBM Dark Age by the advent of the incredible 
iPhone.

I rest my case.
