These are all fair points IMO.

Well this is what I thought that I did but I wasn't able to distribute
it to the others on my team. I don't want to have to have each member
do configure/nmake as it takes too long. I want to be able to copy it
to each user's machine.
As I said, this "seems" to work except for the problem with Assistant.
So I still have basically 2 questions:
-Assuming that the best practice is to build Qt myself for the platforms
that we need, is it Ok to just copy the resulting hierarchy to each
user? (We've done this in the past with different embedded builds such
as RLC etc. with no problems)
-Is there a way to get Assistant to "find" this qhc file or rebuild it
or whatever short of rebuilding everything on each machine?
Again, the only thing obvious at this point is the problem with
Assistant but we'd have to build several different projects to know for
sure.
