[Qt-interest] What is likely to be in Qt 4.8?

Am I wrong to hope that modularization will make most of Qt either modules or
plugins? I'd imagine something like lighthouse would result in an API interface
that could just grab the proper platform DLL. So ability to target hardware (or
more specifically the screen) would be a matter of what platform DLLs you have.
Eventually, the iOS platform would have its own DLLs, Android, Win, OSX DLLs (or
.so) would just be plugins to QtGUI. Similarly a file engine and network DLL for
each platform...

Is this correct?

Sorry, I left the crystal ball at home, so I can't give you exact details.

We obviously want to work with bogdan and others who want to work with us to
improve Qt.

Yes, it's possible, but I can't say what the engineers will do as part of
their research time.

Besides, it doesn't change the fact that it's unlikely for 4.8.
