[Qt-interest] Clarification on "out of scope" closed bug

Hello:

I am trying to get some clarification on bug #12804.  (

It is a bug that is causing problems in all our applications because we use
graphic's views and graphics proxy widgets extensively to create our UIs.  I
was hoping this bug would get resolved as we have been unable to find a way
to fix it ourselves.

What does a resolution of "out of scope" mean?  Does this mean it won't be
fixed?   I know Qt desktop doesn't have the resources it did in the past but
I hope that doesn't mean the current codebase won't get bug fixes.

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to fix it ourselves?
