[Qt-interest] How to tell what version of Qt to use.. Based onan old version of gcc

Almost embarrassed to say gcc 2.9.5, currently using QTE 2.X

I wanted to be able to look up what GCC is supported for various QT 3
versions

What exact version of GCC are we talking about? What kernel, which GUI
system, what libraries and versions of libraries (libc, libX11, libpng,
...)?
