Actually, I don't think the level of understanding that Sarvesh
demonstrates is that weird for a Qt user (perhaps not a Qt developer
that actually works on Qt itself). You are perfectly capable of using
signal/slots, and understanding how to use them, what their role in the
Qt world is, without actually understanding how they work exactly behind
the scenes. Why is that so amazing? I use technologies of which I don't
know how the internals work on a daily basis. For instance, I have no
clue how my compiler really works internally. I know the rough outlines,
but not the greasy details. Yet I use it successfully every day. There
are many other examples, even within Qt.
And now, Sarvesh demonstrates the will to learn more details, to dive
into the greasy gears. He does so by first diving into the code itself.
Only then, he asks a well formulated question, stating in a
well-organized way what he understands from the mechanism, and so making
it easy to reply and correct or add to certain points. I think that
should be applauded, not being looked down at as you seem to do with
this comment.
So from me: thank you for a good question, Sarvesh.
