[Qt-interest] Can connect to to mysql server with Linux Qt app, but not with identical app on Windows

No, I assumed I [naively] assumed I didn't need to as my code compiled! 
I am ploughing my way through it now. Fortunately, someone has put 
together set-by-step guide that will hopefully help.
